Maintenance Tips for RV Engines

Change the Oil

Change the oil and filters every 5,000 to 7,000 miles. If you use synthetic oil, that range can change, and with diesel, change around 20,000 miles. Always check the manufacturer's recommendations.

Change Air Filter

If you notice it’s hard to start the engine, or there’s a loss of power or higher fuel use, it could be a fuel filter issue. Check air filters often, and change them every 12,000-15,000 miles.

Check Belts

The drive belt provides all the power for AC, power steering, and the water pump. Check regularly for cracks and wear. If it's squeaking or squealing, take it in for a replacement right away.
